Natural Language Search Lollapalooza

Picture_11 At VLAB Tuesday, March 20 – Next Generation Search: the hope, the hype & the chutzpah. Barney Pell, CEO and co-founder of his stealth – until now – company, Powerset, described and defended his upstart, yet to be tested, start-up (recently raising $12.5 million in venture capital funding) that's staking its claim in the lucrative search landscape by building a transformative consumer search engine based on natural language processing. Imagine, if you will, dear marketeers, search geeks and astute business people, a world beyond Google keyword search, where as the Tech Chronicles reports, "...a search engine ...can understand the meaning between words so it can answer questions." If Powerset turns out to be as smart as Pell say it is, complex, deep and targeted search answers to questions like, "Why is the 2007 BMW Alpina B7 one of the best performing vehicles in the luxury market?" or "What is the neoconservative view on dual loyalty?" will be within easy reach.

9 months to launch. Get ready.
