Can't stand the thought of another Saturday night watching Emeril on the Food Network? Feeling the itch to go clubbing? Not sure if the music is worthy of pantyhose?
Head to PodBop. Can it get any easier than this? Search by city and date, then podcast or download the local bands' tunes right to your desktop to hear if they're worthy of your time and money. PodBop tags all the music-related events on Eventful.com, including the recent Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival in Seattle. Excellent for road warriors. Whether you're into Decibully, Pink Martini, Old Blind Dogs or James Blunt, PodBop's got it covered.
PodBop's numbers are astounding: 2,000 bands and 3,000 MP3s have been added to their database since launching in early '06. Podbop is strikingly simple at the core and, I believe, the minimalistic strategy is intrinsic to their success.
For the rest of us still trying to shoe horn one more word, feature, benefit or picture of our Mama into the website, ad, elevator pitch or marketing strategy, try simplifying. More people will be able to understand what you are talking about and get behind it. A worthy goal, considering that less could bring in more.
Recommendation:
Try meditating on a Japanese sand garden to get into the right frame of mind. In fact, rest your mind on this picture for five minutes or stare into uncluttered space and I guarantee a clearer head to make decisions with.
