A SoCal native, Clemans grew up on the beaches of Santa Monica, Zuma, and Malibu. She graduated from college with distinction and high honors. Unfortunately, Clemans missed completing a minor in journalism – too busy waxing her surfboard, figuring out existentialism, promoting the ecology movement on campus, and assembling exotic sculpture with a blow torch.

Clemans is an internationally acclaimed furniture designer, recognized by the New York Design Center, Condé Nast, Progressive Architecture Magazine, the Boston Design Center, Mills College, Limn, Elle Decor, New York Newsday, Self, Focus, NBC Today Show, and the Monterey Museum of Art.
